Rental Guidelines and Policies

These are important notes regarding kimono rental and dressing services. Please ensure you read and confirm the details before submitting your booking request.

Rental Policies

Rental Package
The kimono rental includes all necessary items for dressing, including kimono undergarments (hadagi), socks (tabi), and shoes (zori, geta, etc.), unless otherwise discussed during the booking process.

Rental Period
The rental period is typically one full day, so we kindly ask that you return the items by the following day. Please note that late returns may incur an additional extension fee.

Fees and Payment
For on-site kimono dressing services, a travel fee will apply based on the location’s distance. This fee is typically calculated using the IRS Mileage Rate, but may increase if parking is not free. Generally, renters are responsible for returning the kimono to us. However, if returning it is not feasible, we can arrange to pick up the items from your location after the service for an additional travel fee.

Reservations made before 9:00 AM or after 6:00 PM will incur a $10 early morning or after-hours surcharge.

Payment is required at least 48 hours prior to the service or rental pickup. Payments can be made online; please check here for our payment options. If online payment is not possible for some reason, we may accept cash or check—please confirm with us before booking your service.

Refunds
If you cancel your appointment or rental 48 hours in advanced, we will grant a full refund. If you cancel between 48 to 24 hours in advance, we will grant a partial 50% refund. If you cancel the same day as your appointment, unfortunately we cannot grant a refund.

Care
To prevent staining the kimono with hairspray or hair styling products, please ensure your hair is styled before the dressing session. We also ask that you refrain from using strong fragrances or perfumes, as the scent may not be removable through cleaning.

Please take extra care to avoid damaging or soiling the kimono with accessories, bags, door handles, during vehicle entry/exit, or when using the restroom.

If the kimono is damaged or stained during use, please report it to us promptly. Silk kimonos (made of genuine silk) cannot be repaired or cleaned locally and must be sent to Japan for professional repairs, cleaning, or stain removal by specialized services. In such cases, the associated costs (which is approximately $100 – $300) will be the customer’s responsibility.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
